STANDARD MULCH (Short to Long Term)

Hydraulic Mulch consists of a range of products made up of different fibre types used in the application of hydroseeding. These fibres are made up primarily of three different fibre sources;

We offer: FibraMulch (Paper), HydroStraw (Straw) and Rainier Fiber (Wood)
Paper (cellulose); paper mulches are made up mostly of recycled newsprint and provide a cheap mulch source that is suited to short term cover such as landfill daily cover operations. Paper is also used for flat turf applications and short term revegetation projects. (Short Term Mulch)

Straw (Bluegrass/wheat/cotton/flax); Straw provides a longer term cover and is reasonably priced and has excellent C:N ratio's as well as easy loading and increased volumes. Pump/hose blockages, moisture retention, weed seed and mixture separation issues are common in cheap brands if not processed properly. Good for poor soils and quick establishment. Wood fibre; Wood is the premium long term and high erosion protection fibre source, be aware of huge quality issues between different wood sources and processing techniques. Ground wood provides a consistent cheap, shorter wood fibre, where as thermally refined wood fibre provides a longer fibre length and greater moisture holding capacity. Wood comes in standard and advanced formulations. (Short/Long Term Mulch)
The single most specified brand name in BC is Ecofibre or Ecofibre Plus; these are standard wood mulches.
